M62 Leeds traffic: Police called to motorway after distressed woman seen on bridge

Police were called to the M62 Eastbound at 10.41am near junction 27. A full closure was put in place over both carriages of the motorway between junctions 27 and 28 until the woman was brought down safely by officers.
The person is now safe and in the care of emergency services.

A Leeds motorway is closed in both directions due to an ongoing emergency incident.
The M62 is closed between junction 27 for the M621 and junction 28 at Tingley. Emergency services have been sent out to the motorway and police have advised drivers to avoid the area.
