Creddy Taylor will spend eight years in prison instead of four after seeing his sentence doubled by the Court of Appeal after it was deemed to be too lenient.

Taylor, 21, of Gamble Hill Place, Leeds was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court in January, but officers from Bradford District Crime Team appealed the sentence.

Detective Inspector Dennise Bell of Bradford District Crime Team said: “We welcome the increase in sentence by the Court of Appeal. Creedy is a prolific and dangerous offender who deserves to be behind bars.

“I hope this extended sentence will give the victim justice.”

On July 25 last year, a group of masked males including Taylor, who was armed with a machete, smashed entry into a property on Wentworth Crescent, Bradford.

The victim fled the scene and Taylor made off stealing jewellery and cash.

He was forensically linked to the offence but pleaded not guilty to the charges and went to trial, where he was found guilty of aggravated burglary.
